Acceptance of Terms

By registering an account or using the Easy Language website or mobile app (the “Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree to all of these terms, you must immediately cease using the Service. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, form the entire agreement between you and Easy Language regarding your use of the platform.

Description of Services

Easy Language provides online language learning courses in Chinese, Thai, and Korean. Our platform delivers instruction through live one-on-one tutoring and group classes, as well as pre-recorded video lectures and interactive worksheets. Only verified in-house instructors employed by Easy Language provide instruction. Upon successfully completing a course and passing any required tests, users may receive an official certificate of completion for the course.

Account Registration and Responsibilities

• You must create an account to use the Service, providing your real name and a valid email address. You may also choose to sign in via Google or Facebook; by doing so, you authorize Easy Language to access the basic profile information from those providers.
  
  
• Account security: You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential. We encourage you to enable two-step verification for additional security. You must not share your account or allow others to use it. Only one individual may use each account. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account; Easy Language will not be liable if someone gains unauthorized access to your account.
  
  
• Data protection and privacy: We process your personal data in accordance with UK data protection laws, including the UK GDPR. We collect only the information necessary to provide the Service (for example, your name, email, and device type) and do not use cookies or advertising trackers. All user-generated content (written assignments, quizzes, and voice recordings) is stored securely on Amazon Web Services (AWS) servers. You may edit or delete your personal information and content through your profile at any time. Otherwise, we retain your data for as long as needed to provide the Service or as required by law. (Note: we do not currently support exporting or data portability beyond what is editable in your profile.)
  
  

User Conduct and Content

• Permitted content: You must not use the Service to upload, post, or share any content that violates these Terms or any law. For example, do not submit content that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, obscene, hateful, infringing on intellectual property rights, or otherwise objectionable. You may not post third-party copyrighted material unless you have permission to do so.
  
  
• Your responsibility: You are legally responsible for the content you submit to the Service. Easy Language does not endorse your content and has no obligation to monitor it, but we reserve the right to review or remove any content at our discretion. If we reasonably believe that any submitted content breaches these Terms or could harm others, we may remove or disable access to that content without notice.
  
  
• License to Easy Language: You retain ownership of the content you create, but by submitting it you grant Easy Language a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to use, reproduce, modify, display, and distribute your content as needed to provide, improve, and promote the Service. For example, we may use your submitted voice recordings to verify completion of speaking exercises or to improve our teaching materials.
  
  
• Acceptable use: You agree not to misuse the Service. You will not attempt to gain unauthorized access, interfere with the Service’s operation, reverse engineer it, or use it for any illegal purpose. You must comply with all platform guidelines and instructions when participating in lessons or classes.
  
  

Intellectual Property

Easy Language (or its licensors) owns all intellectual property rights in the Service and its content. All course materials, software, text, images, audio, video, and other materials on the platform are protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. You may use the platform content only as expressly permitted by Easy Language. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from any part of the Service without our prior written permission. Easy Language’s name, logo, and any other trademarks on the site are owned by us or our partners. Unauthorized use of our intellectual property may give rise to a claim for damages and is prohibited.

Payment Terms

• Payment method: All lessons, courses, and related products on Easy Language are purchased via in-app transactions within our mobile app (subject to the respective app store’s purchase mechanisms). You authorize Easy Language to charge the applicable fees to your chosen payment method at the time of purchase.
  
  
• No refunds or cancellations: All purchases are final. You will not be entitled to any refunds or cancellations once you have made a purchase (except as required by applicable law, such as remedies for faulty digital content). For example, if a lesson or course is cut short due to technical issues, you generally will not receive a refund or an additional lesson.
  
  
• Taxes and fees: You are responsible for paying any taxes or duties associated with your purchases.
  
  
• Pricing changes: Easy Language may change prices or fees for services at any time. Such changes will only affect future purchases and will be clearly communicated in the app.
  
  
• Apple/Google terms: If you subscribed or purchased through an external app platform (e.g. Apple App Store, Google Play), the platform’s own terms may apply to your purchase and any related refunds. We do not process refunds directly except as noted above.
  
  

Certifications and Course Completion

Easy Language may issue certificates to users who successfully complete a course and pass any required exams or assessments. Receipt of a certificate is subject to meeting all course requirements, as determined by Easy Language. Certification is for educational purposes only; it does not constitute a professional or academic qualification beyond this platform.

 

Limitation of Liability

• Disclaimer of warranties: The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” for educational purposes only. Easy Language makes no guarantees regarding the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of the Service content. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for a particular purpose. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Easy Language (and its instructors, partners, or affiliates) disclaims all warranties, whether express or implied, including any warranties of merchantability or fitness.
  
  
• Your use at your own risk: You acknowledge that your use of the Service is at your own risk. You are responsible for verifying any content before acting on it. Easy Language will not be liable for any issues arising from your use of the Service or any reliance on its content.
  
  
• Limitation of liability: To the extent permitted by law, Easy Language’s total liability to you for any claim related to these Terms or the Service will not exceed the amount you have paid to Easy Language for the applicable course or service. In no event shall Easy Language be liable for any indirect, special, incidental, or consequential damages (including loss of data, profits, or goodwill) arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service.
  
  
• Statutory rights: Nothing in these Terms is intended to limit any statutory rights you may have under applicable consumer protection laws.
  
  

Termination of Access

Easy Language reserves the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time if you breach these Terms or engage in conduct that threatens the security or integrity of the Service. Upon termination, all licenses and rights granted to you will immediately cease. Termination does not affect any obligations or liabilities that accrued prior to termination. We may also block your account or access if required by law or if we suspect unauthorized use.

Governing Law (UK)

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. If you are using the Service outside the UK, please note that the laws of England and Wales may differ from those of your jurisdiction.

Amendments

Easy Language may amend these Terms from time to time. We will post any updated Terms on our app or website, and we will notify users of significant changes (for example, via an in-app notice or email). Changes take effect as soon as they are posted. Your continued use of the Service after changes means you agree to the revised Terms.
